If someone were to ask us about the paperwork that we are required to complete, we would strive to say something positive about the enormous amount of documents that are required for an international adoption. To us, some of this paperwork seems strange… i.e. one form requires us to have an accountant verify that the deed to our home is actually our deed. Yes, I mean an “accountant.” Ah, but as we have learned, “when in Rome, do as the Romans do.”
This process reminds me a great deal of my dissertation process to complete my Ph.D. You just keep going. You have to be persistent. You don’t stop until it’s finished…and the committee chair lets you know when you are finished. In this instance, Svetlana will let us know when we are finished.
Tonight, we are reviewing the forms that we have completed, the forms that we need, the documents that still need to be notarized, and everything will have to be apostilled…! So, we persevere!
These are good qualities that we are exercising…they will make us stronger in the end.
