When we arrived in Nizhniy , the third largest city in Russia, Dmitri was very proud and pointed out some sites of interest to us. We pulled in next to Svetlana, who is our coordinator here in Russia. Svet, as she has asked us to call her speaks impeccable English! She set us up at the hotel and told us she would meet with us at 10:00am on Monday morning. Then, she hurried off.
Our accommodations are nice. European design with a platform bed in a very small room. We were able to skype our children for their Easter morning. Weary from the trip, we were not hungry, simply…exhausted. Annie had a fun time trying to explain to the maid that she needed more toilet tissue and an iron and ironing board. The two of them were somehow able to communicate. After we finished up ironing and watching American movies dubbed with Russian words, we fell asleep. Thank you Jesus for a wonderful first day!
