Our Fourth of July was low-key....Dom worked eight hours. Francesca worked a shift at the pool. The rest of us decided to hang out at the pool in the late afternoon. Earlier in the day Kenny worked on remodeling the basement. I went for my early morning walk, and of course, couldn't help but think about our little Julianna and how much I so hoped that she would be here on Independence Day. As the days in May passed, it became clear that Julianna might not be here on the fourth,...but maybe we could be in Russia on the fourth. Much to my dismay, that did not come to fruition either. Once again, God's timetable is not the same as mine. (no kidding....!) I told Vincent that I hope Julianna is home for the next national holiday,...Labor Day. If we don't go in July...we can't go in August. So...a September date will be on the calendar. And to think we even bought Julianna her first red, white, and blue dress...I guess she'll wear it home from Russia!
Today has been another low-key day...Kenny worked in the basement all day except for the time that he exercised. The kids all had swim team practice, and then I took them all to the pool. The temperature today was 99 degrees! A good day for the pool!
Strawberry bread, blueberry muffins, cucumbers, tomatoes...and I reminded the children that Julianna will love all these foods! We're hoping for news tomorrow from Sveta.
