Gabby enlightened us today with having us listen to the words of the song, "The Climb" by Miley Cirus. The words helped us to reflect on the process that we are exercising now to adopt little Julianna. Adoption certainly is a "climb" of its own, but well worth it once you get to the top.
More documents arrived in the mail today. Grandma Carr purchased tights for Julianna for next winter. We took great joy in finding more educational items for the children in the home where Julianna is currently living. Soon, Julianna will be home. I told the children today that with God's grace, our next holiday after Memorial Day, (Independence Day, July 4) Julianna will be here to celebrate. Let's all pray for that.
I did find myself getting a little emotional today reflecting on the fact that in two years, Dominic will be a high school graduate - wow! For a short period of time, I think Dom gave me some sympathy and cooperated with whatever my requests were for the day. But, as with most soon to be 17 year old boys, the sympathy soon faded. Dominic is a blessing!
I also thought about Julianna and what unknown health concerns we might face with her once she is home. Amid my tears, Kenny reminded me that Julianna will be with her family should she need any unknown medical attention...what better place to be than with your mom and dad! So, if she should need help...we will be by her side insuring that she gets it!
