Yesterday was full of unexpected surprises for us. First and foremost, we received our corrected document in the mail from our homestudy agency. This is the final document that we have been awaiting before we go to the state department for apostilles. Elated to receive it, we are mapping out our plan for this upcoming week. Hopefully all documents will be apostilled tomorrow, Monday, and with some good fortune, we can fed ex all documents to Sveta on the same day. From our past experience, we know it takes six days for her to receive the information. At best, she should receive everything by Monday, June 14. Sveta will be taking our documents and the translated version, which she will have already completed, to the notary in Russia. Everything must be notarized in Russia before she takes it to the judge for our court date. Perhaps Sveta will be able to take our documents to the judge during the week of June 21. Then we will receive a court date...probably a few weeks out from that time period. We are still praying to have Julianna with us by Independence Day. We certainly don't want her to miss the grand celebration! She even has a red, white, and blue dress with matching hair accessory for the occasion!
Surprises were also found yesterday in an unexpected shopping trip. All of the children received some special surprise - clothing, shoes, a potty that sings for Angelo - and we picked up an adorable pair of shoes for Julianna. I am nervous that they may not fit her, so I'm thinking I'll take another pair in a size larger...just in case. We also picked up some hair accessories and a little basket for Julianna's dresser, along with her own pillow for her bed. Lastly, we purchased boxes of crayons and markers, play dough, and a few echo microphones for the Children's Home. Any donations of educational items are greatly appreciated. if interested, please use our contact form on this website.
Truly, we are one day closer. Praise God!
