Last night's sleep was very short! While Dominic slept from 7:00pm to 11:00pm, I caught up on phone calls to family back home and checked with my doctor at home regarding the "complications" that can be found with one who gets Chicken Pox. I also was able to make some progress on our departure, which includes my visa status, Julianna's visa status, embassy appointment, and our flight home. The quick synopsis appears to be the following:
Julianna is allowed to leave the Children's Home today! Finally!
Julianna's passport will be finished and ready for pick-up on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 @ 5:00pm.
Our good driver, Dmitry will take us to Moscow that night where we will check into an apartment that Kenny will be securing for us. (My contact at the embassy is leaving for Siberia on the referral that she has for her potential new daughter.)
Wednesday, August 18, 2010, our doctor will come to the apartment very early to see Julianna and certify that she is fine. (needed for her visa)
At 10:00am, I will take my two children to the embassy appointment for Julianna's visa.
At 2:00pm, I will return to the embassy to pick up Julianna's visa. Dominic and Julianna will be with me.
On Thursday, August 19, 2010, we will arrive in the airport early so that I can obtain an exit visa in order to go home and make a 12:45pm flight to Washington, DC.
I'll be checking with the embassy at 9:00am this morning to confirm our appointment and the one day turn around in Julianna's visa. I really don't think there's a chance that they will consider doing it any quicker...but I will ask.
We are very excited to see Julianna and help her to start her new life with our family! We think she will love being a Licata.
Currently...we wait for Sveta to take us to Julianna. Dom and I will get lots of photos and some video. We will do our best to post to the website.
Stay tuned.
