Vincent and his siblings only have thirteen school days left for the 2009-2010 school year, and Vinnie is counting. Some of the days are shortened days, while others are field trips and activity days. Nevertheless, they must each get up for school just 13 more days! So, the time really is going fast...just not fast enough for us while we wait for our next trip to Russia. News regarding our adoption includes the following:
Today, we realized that one of our documents was notarized in New Jersey, hence we have to get it apostilled in New Jersey. Kenny figured out all the "stuff" that we will need to do to achieve this goal. We should have it back by the end of the week.
We contacted Victoria and asked her to send two documents to us that we will need to get notarized. We are hoping to have them tomorrow or by the middle of the week at latest.
We got an e-mail from Father Mario in Nizhniy Novgorod. He is the priest at the Catholic church that we attended. It was so wonderful to hear from him. He told us that he will be back from Rome with the Pope after June 13. Apparently, he is attended the closing Mass and celebrations for the Year of the Priest that we are soon closing in the Catholic church. It will be great to see him again!
We also received an e-mail from Victoria, the young college student that we befriended at the internet cafe. She says that she has left her part-time job, college is over, and she has returned to Kazan, a city that is a four hour drive from Nizhniy. I do hope that we can see her when we go back.
We also shared in the celebration of the life of Chrissie Patterson. Chrissie was a four-year-old little girl from Serbia who was adopted by the Patterson family in October 2009. Chrissie had significant heart concerns and required surgery on April 19, 2010. On May 19, 2010, God chose to take her home. We learned about Chrissie through ReecesRainbow.org. Her family has a blog site and Chrissie's memorial service was telecast live today at 3:30pm our time. It was sad...but also very happy. We learned that God's hand was involved with Chrissie and her adoption to her forever family as evidenced by the events that were described by her family during the memorial service. She touched many hearts...even ours! But how fortunate for Chrissie that she did not die without a family; she was not an orphan...Her mommy and daddy were with her until the end. If you are interested in reading about this family, the website is http://allarepreciousinhissight.blogspot.com./
Our Angelo is very tired and we are all out of songs for this Sunday night. I wonder if Julianna will like music as much as Angelo... we can only hope with all the musical gifts that have been given to our family.
Let's hope for some exciting news tomorrow...Annie
