Yesterday, returning to my office after a meeting, my secretary handed me a piece of paper that said, " Bill Brady, xxx-xxx-xxxx, needs a taxi." She went on to explain that Bill Brady, whom we met with his wife, Crystal, in Russia, was calling from his home in Texas. He needed the name of a taxi driver in Moscow as he was flying out on Saturday (today) to pick up his two children. I contacted Kenny, who was able to give Bill Svetlana's number in Nizhniy Novgorod, thinking she might be able to help him. Bill relayed to us that he is anticipating zero problems according to his coordinator in Russia.
It wasn't until last night that I realized how funny this situation actually was. Bill didn't have our phone number, so he googled me on the internet, called our school and left a message, asking for information on a taxidriver in Moscow, Russia, a place I had only drove through and waited in an airport or two. Technology is great. Networking is effective!
Nevertheless, I hope we were able to help Bill, and I do hope that he is safely on his way to pick up his children. Our prayers are with him and Crystal!
