I didn't know whether today counted as number two together or the first full day...either way...we are together.
B/c it's late and I am tired and Julianna is trying to wake up at 12 midnight...this will be short and not my usual style. I plan to just type points...kind of like the blog that Kenny posted...but I hope to correct the spelling before it goes out.
Up at 6:00am!
Looked at the album of the pictures of Mom, Dad, and Self for quite sometime and showed to everyone that she saw.
Played ball in the parking lot....great dropkicker. I tried to teach her to stop the ball with her foot instead of hands....maybe kiddie kickers...
Dom taught her lightsabers and said she is amazingly strong!
Didn't like sweetened oatmeal, prunes, and...quit eating raisins b/c they smelled like prunes.
Walked to grocery store, bank, and Subway.
Mom was major silly and gave her too much Vitamin C in the last 24 hours...and if you know Vit C and what happens when you get too much, you'll know that she had diarrhea. We went to Mass at 6:00...I was giving her a shower at 5:30 while they started the rosary...so we were super quiet...had to leave Mass 5 times...and Father Mario kept looking for me each time I left, or so Dom said. The last time we left, i just laughed hysterically in our private bathroom, literally just inches from the church...Her undies had to be washed out and I didn't have the key for our bedroom, so, she went to Mass w/0 underwear for the last 20 minutes...I left the underwear in the bathroom...I couldn't have done this at HNJ...do you think? It wasn't funny...but it was...Father Mario is not the precision that Msgr Lawrence is. His 6:00pm start was more like 6:20pm. Mass didn't end until 7:30pm. No, we had not had dinner, either, so I had to give her gummies...she wouldn't touch the raisins. So, for her first Mass...she did pretty well. :)
The cool part about Mass...I knew almost everybody in the church from having been there so many times.
Everybody loves her...she smiles and waves...shows them her photo album...what a joy!
Dom tried to tease her...NO WAY! She made him stop several times. She just wanted her MOM today. Although, she did ask for Daddy a lot...especially right before she went to bed.
We skyped home several times.
Father Mario is back...and he will help me to make reservations in Moscow at the pilgrimmage that is attached to the church. We will be leaving on Tuesday after we get her passport.
The green dots are starting to fade.
Father Mario's friend from Argentina confirmed that it's only the Russians that think she's contagious.
She had a little congestive cough today...something to watch.
Angelo looked great today on skype...so did Vincent.
Dom and I have the Russian monetary system down now...he carries the coins...I carry the bills. I'm not quite as good as the russians with "give me this and I'll give you this in change" kind of thing.
We practiced writing J today on her wipeoff board. She kind of made it like a backwards C. So, I did hand over hand to help her...it improved...with time, she'll do great. She's starting to recognize her new name a little bit...we kind of blend Yulia, Julia, Julianna to help with the transition.
Mom and Julianna napped for two hours. And Mom had a dream that Vinnie went to his friend's house and got his ear pierced. AAGH!!!
Tonight, she tried the flip the power strip with me, and I just moved her to the other side of the bed...that was that.
She uses her nose to guide her...guess she belongs in the Licata family! (my kids and Kenny can detect any smell)
She smelled her new clothes.
She smelled my shirt and waved her hand by her nose...I guess she thought I had b.o.
Washed more clothes and argued with the wash machine. I finally won!
Big Mass and procession and feast at the Parish tomorrow b/c the name of the Parish is The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and tomorrow is the Feast Day. We will be a part of the celebration and take lots of pictures and video.
Dom said that Father reminds him so much of Ivan...more and more.
Must go...Dom's asleep on the pull out and I have to crawl on the top bunk or sleep next to "the little grinder".
More tomorrow.
