On Fathers Day today, we celebrated with Kenny, who is the father of Dominic, Francesca, Gabriella, Vincent, Angelo, and Julianna. The kids gave their dad a card and each of the older kids wrote a little something in the card. Kenny wanted to know who forged Julianna's name...only Kenny would say that!
For most dads today, I'm sure they were "king" for the day with cookouts, gifts, and spending time with their kids. For Kenny, he had to work (yes for his job) in the morning. He scheduled to volunteer for an event today that benefited special olympics in the 90 degree afternoon for five hours, came home exhausted, and after dinner gave the boys their bath. There were a few other domestic items that Kenny took care of as well.
We did manage to have dinner together as a family tonight and had ice cream for Father's Day. A new frying pan and an igloo cooler, complete with large Hershey chocolate bars helped to assist Kenny in have a great Father's Day.
Our day would have been complete had Julianna been here with us! We think about her and what her needs will be when she arrives. One thing is for sure, she will have a great daddy! She and Kenny hit it off when they were together for only four short days. If you knew Kenny, you could understand why! We are waiting... and tomorrow....Sveta will go to see Julianna in the Children's Home and give her the birthday card! Stay tuned for an update!
